As you may have read in the Welcome section of this website, what I listed there reflects what I have been doing as a student at San Diego State University. To get to know me a bit better, I am the youngest in my family with two older brothers. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends, exploring new places, listening to music, reading, scrapbooking, and watching sports, whether it's going to a game or watching it on TV. I've been able to enjoy San Diego very much, since I am not originally from here, and I've learned a lot about myself over the past three years.
As I begin to close my chapter here at SDSU, I hope to start working in the sports industry through an internship, fellowship, or entry-level role. My goal is to continue telling stories about underrepresented communities in sports. When I first came to college, I wanted to be a TV broadcaster, but that changed over time. I realized I wanted to focus on writing. My long-term goal is to become head of communications or head of digital media for a professional sports team in the MLS, NWSL, NBA, or WNBA. A favorite saying in my family is "Ponte las Pilas." The literal English translation is "Put on the batteries," but in Spanish, it means a few different things: get moving, work harder, get your act together or snap out of it. There is no credited author of the phrase, but it is by far the one that keeps me going in life.
